Storage & handling instructions

We highly suggest you ENJOY these tortillas within 1-2 days of purchase.

Mejorado Tortillas can be stored in a cool (70º or lower ) and dry area for 1-3 days or can be kept refrigerated for 7-8 days.
Note: When tortillas are refrigerated we recommend they be tempered at room temperature for at least 10 minutes to prevent tortillas from sticking to each other.

Heating and Cooking

Heating tortillas for burritos, tacos, wraps, and more.

We recommend you heat your tortillas on an ungreased skillet, electric griddle, or on a stick pan
over low to medium heat (250℉ - 275℉) heat for 20-25 seconds on each side.

Other cooking and heating techniques:

-Grill

-Frying (325℉)

-Over wood fire or charcoal

-Straight over burners, Como Abuela

Cooking and re-heating

Heating tortillas for burritos, tacos, wraps, and more.

We recommend you heat your tortillas on a plancha or griddle set at 250℉ - 275, heat for 20-25 seconds on each side.

For a crispy outside finish on a plancha, griddle, or panini press set at 350℉ - 375℉ for 20-25 seconds on each side.

Other cooking and heating techniques:

Storage

When delivered we recommend tortillas be removed from the box and stored on sheet trays or flat refrigerator shelf, refrain from

stacking more than 5 packages high to preserve the integrity of the tortilla or sticking.

At room temperature (68℉-72℉) - Tortillas will stay fresh for 3 days

Refrigerated ( 34℉-41℉) - Tortillas will stay fresh for 14 days

Note: When tortillas are refrigerated we recommend they be tempered at room temperature for at least 1 hour to prevent tortillas from sticking to each other.

 


Michelada Mix

Ingredients: Fresh Lime Juice, Worcestershire sauce, tomato juice, water, condiments, and spices

A 16-ounce bottle makes 4-6 Micheladas. Place seasoning on a small plate, moisten the rim of a large glass with any citrus juice and coat the edge of the glass with the seasoning.
Fill the glass with ice, pour 2-3 ounces of michelada mix (or desired amount), pour 12oz of your favorite beer, and stir gently. Enjoy!

Strawberry, Lemon, Rosemary Agua Fresca

Ingredients: Organic strawberries, filtered water, fresh lemon juice raw sugar, rosemary

32-ounce bottle serves 4 or makes 4-6 cocktails Enjoy Agua Fresca over ice or make it a cocktail.

Agua fresca cooler

Pour 1 1/2 - 2 ounces of Tequila, Mezcal, or Cava in a glass over ice, and pour 6 ounces of agua fresca over iced spirit.
Stir gently and garnish with citrus or fresh sliced strawberries.

Carne Asada Taco Kit

Ingredients: Steak: Inside skirt steak, salt, pepper, black pepper, Aleppo pepper, garlic powder, dried oregano

Salsa Roja: Tomatoes, onions, garlic, jalapeños, Anaheim chile, salt, water

Cooking instructions: Pre-heat a heavy pan(cast iron) or grill to above 350F. We recommend charcoal or mesquite for best results.
Sear steak on each side for 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, 4-5 minutes for medium to medium-well. Once cooked place on a clean plate and cover with foil for 4-5
minutes allowing the meat to rest. After the meat is rested place it on a cutting board and slice or dice meat into 1/4 inch pieces. Heat flour tortillas on a grill or pan for 30 seconds
on each side (or desired preference). Place warm tortillas on a plate and fill with 1 1/2 ounces of cut carne asada, top with salsa roja. Garnish with fresh cilantro, onion,
and or lime wedge. Enjoy!
